Often I use cardboard (or other materials) to mock up projects to refine dimensions, layouts, or make patterns for projects I am working on. Anyone else do this? Let's see you mock-ups and projects....... Please post pics of your projects. Currently designing a large oak plank dining table and used a flat screen TV box and a couple toilet boxes to finalize the dimensions for the table. Did the same for the rock star fire place...

Not working on any projects now that call for it, but I have used paper, cardboard and even thin plywood for large items. BTW, that fireplace is a heck of a good looking job

I keep sheets of poster board in the shop. It's easier and cheaper to cut than the sheet metal that it is making a template for.
