I've got a farm in cottle county just east of childress texas and im thinking of making a trip to hunt hogs with my crossbow and I cant make the 3 hour trip back down to dfw with one or possibly more hogs to process and hope the meat is still good, so im looking for a reliable processor around childress texas doesn't matter if theyre a town or two over just as long as they do good work

If it was me I'd just throw a bag of ice or two in the chest cavity and drive to DFW. Done it before without an issue. But if your looking for a good place that's on the drive home I'd suggest Old Margaret in Crowell. Head south on Hwy 6 out of Quanah. Will add about 45 mins to your drive home.

Old Margaret Wild Game Processing

I guide up there and the ONLY processor I know of in the area (and I've looked around) is up in Wellington. A&K processing. I've taken a few up there and they do a very good job. They process beef as well so they are open year round.

Might think about investing in a receiver hitch rack. You can get one big enough to handle a hog or deer. Just wrap it in a tarp, bungie it down tight.. and head on home.

well i'd love to know who it is that keeps breaking my deer feeder if I don't hide it, someones likely to get their rear hit with an arrow if I find out who it is.

average hog we shoot is 375 gutted, no cooler is big enough to fit one inside it, when we go on a big hunt and we shoot several we typically have a 5X10 trailer filled with em of all sizes, we have several we can hit three times with a 30.6 slug and they don't seem phased, but those are the ones that we have to call our farmer out with his tractor to pull out
