I'm getting on a lease but its south zone only. So I'm planning to hunt public for the first part of september. I'm wondering if there is a way to see the public locations FIRST before I actually pay for the APH.

Ok thanks. I talked to the guy who owned the public land outside liberty last year and he said he probably wasn't going to open it up for the 14-15 season. I guess we will see. I wasn't sure how often it changed but that's good to know. Thanks

Expect company. You can still do ok. Alot of guys will be out watching where the doves like to fly a week or so prior to the 1st and they will get there to those spots early. I know because I used to do just that and always had company at daylight and dusk on many of the units scouting. There is always a hot corner or fence line or pond etc.
Units closer to big citys get more traffic, obviuosly. Hope this helps.
