I think some of those scores are a little too high. I would put it more like in the low 70's if that because I have killed a deer very similar to that but with longer and more points than that.
You look to be a younger fella. I realize that this may be a very important deer to you and you may want to spend the money to get it recreated. But there will be plenty of time for you to get more deer. My advice is save your money and put it towards another hunt or lease or more gear. If you want to spend hundreds on it to get it recreated will you still feel the same in the end when you look at it on the wall? Is that recreated buck going to be any different than the pictures you already have? Are you doing it because your mad at the lose of the hide and antlers or because of the memory of the hunt. And if its for the memory of the hunt, make sure it really means that much to you. The pictures will be more real than the buck you will have recreated. I'm just saying...think about it. You will have more chances to get deer and bigger deer if you work for it. Think about spending that money on that because its about the memory of the hunt and not the trophy on the wall. Good luck with whatever you choose. I just felt I needed to speak up because I have seen this before and after it was done the ones that I know that did it, didn't feel the same passion for that recreated mount as they thought they would. Everyone has different viewpionts on stuff like this, I'm just trying to advise from my personal experience and opinion for whatever little its worth. Best of luck to you.

That is really unfortunate, and I am sorry to hear that happened to you. I would be very mad as I am sure you are, but I agree with Curtis and stxranchman. I would suggest you put your dollars to creating a new memory and getting a mount of the next one. I think getting a nice oil painting would be nice and there is less chance of disappointment than with a recreation.
Again sorry to hear this happened to you!

there will be more that you can mount ... just curious why no one here raised the question about making a stronger attempt at getting in touch with the taxidermist ... although they may be out of business, they MIGHT still have a pile of antlers somewhere (maybe not) ... I think I would continue to track that person down, maybe in person and knock on their door. I also find it odd that 7 years has passed since the buck was killed and just now raising the question?
I agree at putting your money towards another hunt or gear ...

It was Ceder Creek Taxidermy in mabank Tx but then moved his shop to Kemp tx. I've tried going by there a few years ago and electricity was still on but the building looked empty inside and I've tried sending certified letters but only get returned with no contact. I've made a complaint through the BBB and they couldn't make contact. I've tried...
