Either next year or the year after, I want to find a lease. Since I've always hunted on family land, I've never had the need to look for a lease. Got some questions so I'm coming to y'all for some advice.
1.) As of now, I hunt with my F.I.L and his cousin. They are the ones who truly got me hooked and I really enjoy their company. I would really like to continue hunting with them. Only problem is they are both retired and living on a fixed income. I wouldn't mind paying their way ( I figure I owe it to them anyway). Would $500-$700 per gun be reasonable, too low or high?
2.). I really wouldn't be looking for a huge lease (obviously by my previous question). What would be the smallest acre lease I should look for?
3). We live in Montgomery county. I would prefer a place somewhere around 1-2 hours away. Anything in that particular area I should have my eyes on?

IMO your $$$ numbers might be a bit low for a lease with enough deer numbers to support 3 hunters. But you never know what you might find though. I would look a bit more west towards Central Texas where you get more deer per acre. That would get you smaller acreage with a lot of game also but might cost a bit more. It will get you deer, hogs, turkey and a possible exotic pr two every now and then. If you aren't looking for trophy animals, but more of the hunting experience it might fit your need.
