OK Elk guys I need your help. Me and partner hunted 26 last year on a draw. Got a cow. 1st yr in colo. After research and a scout trip to unit 41 on a recomendation, we decided there is no way we are going to hunt 41.

Way to thick with scub oak and the canyon is sheer cliffs. For those intrested unit 41 is otc and the bottom of main draw is thick with bears.
now with less than 3 weeks left, we have to come up with an entirely new unit unscouted. I am not looking for your meadow but I really need some suggestions on some units. Looking at 12 and 25 currently.

Looking for unit with wilderness type areas with no atv trails/roads. Foot and horse traffic.
less than 10,000 ft preferably.
Areas with timber, not desert type terrain.

any suggestions please advise pm's welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I know there is lots of good elk and hunting in unit 75 between Durango and Pagosa Springs.

Presh 8 it. We are trying to stay out of the sage country. Apparently the units in those areas are extremely crowded but I have not researched 75 but will now. We are looking at 25 and 13 currently and am starting to rule 13 out as the majority of unit is private. Trying to do research as quickly as possible. It will drive a man to drink trying to figure it out. Then again it dont take me much convincing.......ha.
