Stupid people do all sorts of things that lead to preventable accidents. Guns just add more of a lethal danger. When considering that only 3 people died in hunting accidents, we should consider how many people died in ATV and fishing accidents.

Hunting to me is still far safer than many outdoor activities when looking at the stats. The number of people that drown each year fishing the surf in place like the mouth of the Old Brazos river in Freeport and San Luis Pass amaze me. Wading into heavy currents in loose sand kills half a dozen per year at these 2 Brazoria County sites it seems.

Handling firearms is not something I'd trust these folks with either.

It's all about common sense and understanding the potential dangers of what is involved in any activity. Sadly, some folks will never understand these simple measures.
