I had some interesting guest come thru the farm in the last couple of months first was this coyotee that was trying to get at our chickens. My first shot (around 30 yards) with OO buckshot put two pellets into my weber grill three into our lawn furniture then one made its mayks into its leg. Dropped him then he recovered and luckily he was out of sorts and ran by me at about 12 yards and he was not so lucky on my follow up.

Next was last Thursday checking the fence line this guy was laying claim to some shade by an old hackberry. My first shot with my PT22 resulted in him just looking at me with what appeared to be a good shot to the head with blood dripping off him. I was readty to unload the pistol on him when i realized the empty had jambed the action. He slithered away across the fence into my neihbors pasture behind an old 55 gallo drum. I immediatley told the wife to get the 16 gauge and I made my way over the 10 strand barb wire fence (that was an accomplishment at the least). I approached the barrel hoping he had not gone into a hole and there he layed coiled up eyes locked to mine. I thought of using the pistol again but I did not want this thing to get away. The wife arrived with my trusty bolt and all was over. One shot removed his head and almost split him in two. length I did not measure but pics should show size I'm 6'2" He had 12 rattles.

That's a HUGe rattle-bug, even without a head!

Yup, 00 buck is a bit rough on the ranch for close-range varminting; I buy cheap/clearance turkey-loads for just that purpose.
