This deer looks to have a drop that is due to injury. I don't believe any deer in this pic is over 3. Some are 2. Just got the camera out yesterday. Not bad so far.

I would not call it a droptine but more of a damage G2 that has turned down. You can call it what you want though. A droptine adds value.

His baby brother ain't bad either. I THINK this is a 2 year old. I had no deer showing that charactor at that age last year. He must have been a small 8 at 1.5.

I think "baby brother" will be worth more than the other one by a mile and he isn't even done yet! He has all kinds of "crazy" at a young age. Be nice to see him in 3-4 years!!

If ducks had horns I'd probably be a duck hunter. I am a horrible deer hunter. Probably the worst. Ever.

Yeah, I don't let deer like that get shot before 7.5 years of age. In my experience they don't meet their full potential till then. My problem is that I've got some mature bucks that will have to be killed in October and early Nov. to make way for these younger bucks. I don't want my 150-170" grand dads killing my potential 250+ bucks in fights during rut.

Not a bad problem to have as long as you get the hunters in early.

Yeah I'd prefer hunters but they're going down hunters or not. I've got some serious fighters out there. Two lost an eye last year and one got stabbed straight down his throat. No way I thought he'd live, but he did. One hazard of long tined deer is that if they get in a fight with a shorter tined deer it can end up really bad.

Get a few hunters with a discount special on the older bucks, can the difference be wrote off in your situation? That would also be great "hands on " marketing

That would also be great "hands on " marketing I don't know of a legal way to write off discount hunts. That brings up a great point though. Do deer breeders get to write off deer that die in pens like cattle and exotic raisers do?? I mean, since they don't "own" the deer.. ? And what's discount? I'll shoot'em all myself before I sell 140-170" for 1500 to 2500.

Well I got some pics today that really made me scratch my head. At first I thought the deer in these two pics was the droptine (broke g2) from a couple of days ago. But after a closer look I think it's not the same deer. It looks like it has a split right ear in the first pic and in the pic of the drop tine deer he seems to have bigger diameters at the ends of his tines. But I don't know.... What do ya'll think? Look at the fouled up end of the right main beam on this deer. It's dropping in this pic and it's a wadded up mess in the first pic.

That looks odd, almost looks like the MB is turned down, but the photos make it hard to see. The one on the bottom really looks strange? cant tell what's going on on that guy's head, almost looks like a 3rd beam mixed in there LOL.

Shooting them yourself makes you how much? I was not saying half price, but an incentive price, say maybe 10-20% off, that would encourage a hunter to pop old musty. Even a rich fella doesn't like spending more than he has too, (as long as there aren't any witnesses to his "cheapness" LOL)

But I won't give them away. It ain't good for anyone's business to let them go for less than half price.

Too bad you couldn't sell them to the next LO's and turn them loose, but not sure how your setup. iirc if they are out of state deer, they have to be accounted for (no release). I know you have several properties, but never caught how you set them up outside of the one you stated was just HF for the native deer. If they are native, how do you price them? is it similar to a normal hunting lodge fee? I ask because it would seem easier to figure a price (for me), if I had invested in the bloodline (had a baseline). (not considering the rest of it, like fences, feed ect tra. BTW, your web site looks nice.

BTW, the setting them loose for payment part, just "jerking your chain"
