I spent the last week in a comprehensive class studying how to complete a W/T deer mount. During the class I completed these two mounts. I would like some feedback on how they look.... Not great cell phone pics, but you get the idea. The first one still has rods supporting his ears till it completely dries....

I like the relaxed look more on the second buck, but they both look great. That's pretty impressive for your first 2 mounts. And you picked 2 big racks to start with

Look good. I like the flare in the nostrils of the second buck. He looks to be ill tempered.

the antlers are mounted too high and too far back...more so on the second one

I'm a newbie too but here are some of the tips I picked up to help set the antlers. The blue lines shows the antler position parrel to the head/nose. The guy I'm learning from say the red line should be between 35-40 mm from the base of the antlers to the corner of the eyesocket on the form. If you took a euro and measured from the base of the antler to eye socket it should be around the 40mm mark Or at least they are for south texas deer.
