I have been lurking here for a while and I decided to chime in on an experiece I had to today. I went to a spot on Lake X and setup this morning. At this point I already know what your going to say...life and times of public hunting. Well I am set up and waiting at LST. About 7:25 two mallards come in to far out from my spread so I just listen and watch. Next a nice 8 point wanders through about 75 yards off and I watch him through the binocs and watch the birds. Now the first clue was the buck turned and looked behind him. Should have known at this point something was going on. Next the birds jump up and take off and of course no where close to even think of taking a shot. Man this is weird. About 3 minutes later here comes some dude wearing a blaze orange vest and carrying a shotgun. Now he is about 75 yards away from me and starting to look over my spread. I guess he was picking out the greenheads. At this point I am not interested in getting shot so I yell and wave. He then proceeds to walk around me to the North and was like a marching band at the Rose Bowl. At this point all I can do is laugh. I wait it out another 45 minutes--no action. I pack up and head to the truck. On getting to the truck I notice there is something setting on my tool box. Now I start to think what did I leave when I left earlier. Upon getting to the truck someone has left me a mallard hen. How thoughtful. Now what if I already had my hen. What an #$%clown. Is this not wanton waste? However, I have her already for some Duck Gumbo later. Thanks dude for the present. I hope someone see you sometime and gives you a nice present in the teeth. Okay, end of story, end of rant. I love this sight and reading the posts of JJ. Someday even I might be that good.

I've had the same experience while at a lake where a guy left 4 ringnecks in my truck. I had close to a limit already, so this put me in quite a pickle. I thought this was an isolated incident, but with this thread it scares me. I ALWAYS follow regulations, and when someone does this, it makes us look like the criminal.
fshntexas - did you call the warden, or did you just take the hen? I'm curious what the warden said.

I was hunting a lake last year and packed and headed out at the same time as 2 other hunters.
We hiked back to the cars together and when we got there someone had left him a bootlip hen on his hood. He wasn't too happy. Some people are huge douchers.
