Should I give this deer a year or let one of my kids take him this year?

Freaky looking. I'd let the kids shoot him if they see him. Question is, will he make ARs if applicable?

It is antler damage and the buck will probably be back to a normal rack next year. But nothing wrong with letting one of your kids shoot the buck.

Looks like it could be damaged antler like STX said, or damaged pedicle which if that he will always have a messed up rack. Have killed a few of those over the years including one cool looking elk.

I've come to the conclusion if you have to ask whether or not to wait, you probably should wait.

By the looks of the base size on the good antler, I bet he is a stag.

Image he won't come out of velvet or go completely hard horned.
