Do you use a waterfowl choke for dove or just a factory one?

Skeet, IC & LM work great for doves depending on the situation but a tighter choke may be necessary for pass shooting. I use Briley extended chokes. I like being able to quickly see what choke I have in the gun.

So many people worry about their chokes more than their ability. Best shots I'm ever with use factory chokes. Personally I leave a modified in for doves and shoot a full for ducks, most would disagree with my choice but that's how I've always done it and Im happy with the results.

1.25oz of 7.5s out of a skeet choke is pretty much a cone of death as far as most people can hit doves.
I don't go to LM or Mod until 6s become necessary cause the dubs are really shy. This is pretty rare.
Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.

I generally use an IC for dove with 7.5 and modified or improved modified for ducks with #2 shot.

A modified is the best all around for everything but long shots on ducks. People I hunt with use IC for doves and ask me why I run a modified with 7.5s and I tell them I like my doves dead when I go and pick them up

Carlson's extended Improved Modified from start to finish for me. Beginning of the season I shoot 7.5's about mid season I switch over to 6's.

I shoot full on both. One of my guns is a fixed full choke and the other has the full rusted in so I'm stuck with that but that's what I always shot anyways

you have to be aware that chokes with steel shot compress more due to the shot being harder so a modify with steel will perform like a full or an I/C will shoot like a mod.

Most people over choke. We shoot full and xxtra full in South America for dove. If your on, you are on. People focus too much on choke.
Carleson chokes pattern at about 80% for heavy shot/ heavy steel. Can buy all 3 for 100bucks or less. Have used patten master and kicks for 3x price. These are just as good. Check them out on patterning board at 30-40+ yards.
Great choke
