It resembles a Chiltan goat/ibex. If so they are extremely rare.

My guess would be Markhor Cross...I say that because the horn structure looks like a Markhor but the second photo shows the horns flaring out....neat looking critter.

I like Cat. Man. 10 believe it is a Markhor Ibex cross. Markhor looking horns and an Ibex colored and shaped body.

Looks a lot like the Markhor crosses they have on the Indianhead Ranch in Del Rio.

Darn lucky of you to find a markhor wondering on to your ranch. Just like that sable that wondered onto someone's property last year. Some people have all the luck.
If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today...

Not sure exactly....but I'm assuming some type of domestic goat such as a Catalina, or maybe some hybrid Ibex. My hunch is that they bred them to one of these, and then back to Markhor again....giving them the Markhor "look". I would be interested to know as well.

Interesting...maybe some feral goats got into the Indian head and the markhor billies found themselves some catalina girl friends?

As far as I know the only ranches where you can hunt a pure markhor are 777 and Morani. Ox ranch is just starting their herd and Priour lost theirs.

They had some pures way back in the day, not sure what they cross them with.

I believe the Patio Ranch also has pure Markhor Yes them too. And why would Indianhead want to intentionally want to hybridize their markhor?
