I pulled up his facebook page an there was a update from the 27th.

Finally some very good news.... he is off the vent and intubation, although he was given a "peg tube" yesterday. When I arrived at his room this morning he was sitting upright with only an oxygen mask, with his eyes wide open. I couldn't believe my eyes. He must have heard "acute long term rehab" and decided he had to get to work on his breathing! They are watching carefully, but, so far so good. PT and Speech evaluations will probably take place tomorrow.....not to worry about the talking since he's already started (a little mumbled)!

He still has a ways to go but with your prayers and continued concern he's come this far.....thank you ever so much!

I had an uncle that went into cardiac arrest that was brought back. They kept him on a respirator for a week, then had to do a couple weeks of PT. Sounds like Cappy is ahead of the game though!

Come on Jim!!! We are rooting for you.

Prayers up for Jim and Carol......Jim helped me through a lot of struggles trying to get my feet under me in this sport. He also helped me get through one of the toughest things I have ever experienced and that was losing the first dog I trained to duck hunt Miley......for some reason every time I think of that dog I always think of Jim aka Cappy..........

Update....

Sad to report that Jim is back on sedatives, antibiotics and the vent as of yesterday. He developed an infection which they are testing. Those results that have been completed so far are good, still waiting for those that will take up to 48 hours. He is doing a little better and is at least comfortable.

I sincerely appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers for Jim throughout this ordeal!

Update.......

Haven't updated since Jim went back on the vent, but Jamie has pretty much explained what has been going on. As I write this Jim has stabilized and is at least resting comfortably. Once his oxygen level stabilizes the doctor will perform a trach.
He still has a long way to go, including rehab.

Puppies miss him terribly, especially Rusty, he's besides himself .... doesn't know wh...at to do. Remi on the other hand is ultra quiet. Jim told me, before he went back on the vent, to be sure to charge the video camera to film his reunion!

Jay and Marley go back to Las Vegas on Saturday. On one hand they were a handful but on the other hand somewhat helpful keeping me busy. Jay was a big help feeding the ducks and pigeons and even cleaning the house for me!

Please know that I love you all for sharing your concern! It sure mean a lot to both Jim and myself!

Prayers for him and his family and I look forward to seeing that reunion video.
