Always h as had 45 but cost of shooting a lot made me think about a 9mm. Are there any downsides to going that way? Or will I be stuck using hotter loads to get it to cycle properly?

Back in the '80s I had a friend that had a Colt 1911 in 9mm. That was a nice gun. Still prefer the .45 myself.

I have a Kimber Pro Carry II in 9mm. Accurate and Wayyyy too much fun to shoot. Only problem, I had to buy a progressive reloading press to feed it.

I have two 1911's in 9mm and they both shoot like a champ. One is an STI 4" and the other is a cheap Citadel Tactical model from Academy. They have both shot everything I have put in them including cheap steel cased ammo and HP's. Neither one has had a malfunction yet.

I carry the Springfield EMP and have never had a problem with it. Small, light, and easy to carry. It shoots either 115gr or 147gr ammo with no problems... If you want to try the EMP let me know, were not to far apart...

I would love to have a Dan Wesson Pointman 9mm. I had a Kimber ultra carry II 9mm and really liked it. I have been on a revolver kick lately so my only 1911 is my Dan Wesson Valor. I need a 9mm 1911 sometime soon.

Well that answers my main question. Had a buddy of mine trying to tell me it wouldn't cycle or be reliable. Apparently he doesn't know what he is talking about. Now to find one.

I had 2 RIA 1911's in 9mm one full size and one officers size. Both would shoot and cycle 124gr JHP and FMJ ammo. They would both cycle 115gr round nose FMJ but jam round after round of 115 JHP. I love the feel of 1911's but I don't trust them. Same thing happened on my spring field armory loaded custom in .45 230gr round nose FMJ would load and shoot fine would jam on every JHP ammo I tried. If I can't trust it to go bang every time I won't own one.

My limber would cycle anything I put in it but it wouldn't be my first choice for carry either.

Love my sig P938, very similar to a 1911.

I like the small footprint.

I have two 9mm 1911's.......a Dan Wesson PM-9 and a Fusion 6" Longslide. Both are a dream to own and shoot.

I shoot nothing but my cast lead reloads through them.

Find one what? A 9mm 1911 or a friend that knows what he is talking about?
