Hey guys I finished another skull! I wanted to give this hog skull the look of a live hog but it almost took a wood grain look! I thought about plugging the kill shot hole in it's forehead with a nickle plated 22LR hull but I not sure if it would draw to much attention or not! What do ya think?

Thanks guys! Sneaky I have a normal skull that I cleaned a whitened with peroxide! I wanted to do something different!
It actually all started with cow skulls. I wanted to find a steer skull and do some type of finish on it. Well getting someone to give up a skull with horns ain't that easy! So I started practicing on cow skulls that I would pick up while out predator hunting local cattle ranches so that when I did manage to get my hands on a nice skull I would have a general idea and technique down to finish it with! After a few cow skulls I thought I would try a couple of coyote skulls since I had access to a few! After a few coyote skulls I thought a hog skull woukd look cool! So I painted a hog skull! Besides, anybody can have a whitened hog skull! But there isn't another skull that is exactly like any of mine! So they are my unique trophies, plus I get a kick out of designing and painting them!
Thanks for looking guys!

I think you have your third upper incisors in wrong. They should not be sticking out that much unless your hog had a weird dental anomaly.
Otherwise, it looks pretty cool. Leaving the bullet hole was good.

Thanks Double Naught Spy! I'm not a hog expert but I thought that looked different when I first saw it! I just put it back like it was! I flipped them over and around but they would only fit this way! I have three other hog skulls cleaning and they are all pointing forward and down more!

Hey JJ, Funny how that works, LOL. I have some experience with dead animal teeth and reconstructions and you would be amazed at what people can make fit into wrong holes. It can be real easy to mess up the lower incisors as well, the lefts fitting into the holes for the rights and vice versa sometimes, but then you find the occlusal surfaces look weird. Sometimes they will fit in the wrong order on a given side.
Keep up the good work!

Not much for the "new" painted skulls but I like this one. Should go well in your collection.

Thanks guys! wtjim my first coyote skull was a natural bone finish, cleaned and whitened. It still sits!on it's shelf now yellowing a bit over time! They are neat but I wanted to do something else! I also wanted to creat a nice steer skull eventually so I wanted to try diffent techniques to see what looked good! I am not much on just a painted skull. I try to add character to them with the paint! Thanks for looking guys!
