Got them on my F150 FX4. Coming from a F250, prior to that a 2500HD, and prior to that a 1-ton dodge, I was pretty shocked at just how much my truck squatted with just an ATV in the bed. I really need to get back into a 3/4ton but I'm cheap and this truck is almost paid for. That being said, yes I put airbags on the back. Bought the firestone kit with out the on board air. Each bag has a seperate fill/empty port. I put the fill/empty port where my license plate bolt were, nobody even know it's there. I have no gauges so I simply use a tire pressure check tool for getting proper pressures. Always keep 5 pounds in them just to keep them inflated, when the ATV go in the bed it goes up to 25psi, when anyone one of 8 trailers get hooked up it's usuall between 30-50 psi. Works very very good, and keeps my tires off my fenders. I lost a fender flare in Oklahoma while driving through a bar ditch with ATV in the bed.

I have bags that replaced the bump stops. Onboard compressor and gauge. They made 3/4 ton trucks ride smoother and they wont get their work done because of it. The air bags fixed me up.

I've done some research and the Firestones are the most common installed on HD trucks and they have a lifetime warranty..........Airlifter has the weaker brackets and attaches to the springs vs firestone attaches to the axles.....I'm sure air lifter are good but they dont have a lifetime warranty.

Hmmm. Must be a recent change. Mine attach to the axle.

Your tires are air bags... they can handle the squat

Have firestone riderites for my F150 and had them on my previous trucks. Helps with the squat, especially if you have a leveling kit.

Except the squat negatively affects vehicle handling and braking.

We use the Firestone bags on some of the work vans. I prefer helper leaf springs.

just don't exceed the axle capacity and
tire load range and you should be ok.

this is after you've added air bags/ overloads.
you won't increase factory carrying capacity.

Thanks for all the info,,,,hopefully the bags will improve the ride and braking while towing.

I probably push my truck over its limits and I'll do that until it fails then I'll get another one maybe DRW but I hate DRW trucks, to much on the back end for me......I haul a 27ft trailer with a 5ft dovetail laoded with a tractor and cutter total load not counting the trailer 11,500lbs. I do take it easy when towing, I dont try to break any records for time.

I'm aware it will not increase the load capacity.......In reality the difference from a 250 to a 350 is an extra set of springs

Had them on my tundra, just put firestones on my f450, to tote a heavy 5th wheel...definitely worth the money

Exactly the reason I wont by a bigger truck although it take alot more to sag the 450. I saw the new dodges have air suspension from the factory now.

Truck isn't going to do all the work for you.
