what type of boots are those? Looks like a cross between a storm trooper and hunting boot.
Baffin Ice Bear. They are temperature rated to -58, water proof insulated polyurethane with a kevlar safety plate and toe cap. Very good boots for hunting in the north in November/December.

This is me in my blind, pretending to be happy about not seeing any deer! That's funny.
If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

Does it get hot in there? Not at all, but I'm a few states North where hunting season is a bit cooler.

Tye, that blind is nicer than some of the Hampton Inns I've stayed at. Nice one.

This was our favorite blind, I cannot count how many pigs, coyotes, bobcats and deer were shot from this one over at least 30 years. Then some fancy, city slicker came along and decided it was ugly and he tore it down. He was kicked off the lease. A lot of history and memories were made there.

Built this one a few years ago... 14 ft to the floor on top of a 40 foot bluff. I knocked it over one time trying to level it, and then it blew over. Its now concreted in the ground and only 12 ft to the floor. I swear you can see the curviture of the Earth when you are in this thing. Out the window on Christmas 2012: View out other side on a regular day:
If ducks had horns I'd probably be a duck hunter. I am a horrible deer hunter. Probably the worst. Ever.

The view: Or my ladder setup in the woods: There isn't much on the ground anymore since I put out a feeder. Deer and hogs have torn it pretty much bare.

Just noticed this thread. This is a 4x6 stand that I built last year. Base is 5', using steel elevator brackets. Front window is plywood, sides and rear windows are Plexiglass. All hinge at the top and open out. Box itself is pre-primed OSB "Smart-siding." All walls and roof framing is 2"x2" on 24" centers. The floor is 2x4" on 12" centers. It's light enough that two strong people can tilt it and lift it. It takes four people to actually lift it and carry it. There are electric conduit brackets on the sides that allow a pipe to be used to lift from each corner and carry. It's like a palanquin, just a little bit heavier. That allowed it to be carried in, when the trail wasn't passable for a vehicle. I have a PDF file with the plans, instructions, and photos if anyone is interested. I will email the plans if you PM me with your email address.

Welp.. here is my latest... It is not finished yet. 12 ft tall from ground to base. 20 ft tall to top. Will have a solar charger on the roof to power a cell phone booster and hog lights and MAYBE a small portable A/C.. lol. Carpet and door going in this weekend. Pen #1 being finished out and set up this weekend (we already have another one set up). Next month will be insulation, paneling, shelves, etc, and fresh paint on the trim once we use foam and caulk on the trim. The views: Feeder 1 of 3: (will be cleared and finished next month) Feeder 2 of 3: (will be finished this weekend) Feeder 3 of 3: (already working) Panoramic view: Russ
Hunting is easy..it's getting permission from your wife that is tough.
