Im headed down in a few weeks to do a little fishing and relaxing for a week. Im interested in a few spots to eat. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. We wont eat out every meal but I am sure that we will at least once a day. Im not interested in anything located outside of Rockport(no Aransas Pass or Port A or Chorpus rest's). Any help is appreciated.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

Blackened Fish Tacos with Sweet potato fries at Moon Dogs. Also a great burger and grouper sandwich. Fried shrimp and Crab/Shrimp Bisque at Crab N Shempy's Grill for flounder Several really good mexican food places Panjos for Pizza Rositas for breakfast burritos, they open at like 5AM so you can get them before you head out JD's Seafood for anything fried, he makes great dipping sauces. Alby's for a Fried Shrimp PoBoy
I know you said no Aransas Pass, but the Best Burger in the area is at Hampton Landing's in Aransas Pass, the Southwest Burger.
HHUUMMMM, what to write, what to write, I got nothing.

Usually hit the boiling pot when I'm down there. Been a while so it may not be as good now but usually was a hit.

I hate to say it but rockport has a very poor selection when it comes to restaurants. My family has spent every summer there since the late 60's and we have always wondered why the town doesn't have anything great. Everybody talks about Charlotte Plumbers, but drive by late at night and you'll see the Sysco truck unloading the "fresh" fried seafood. And the boiling pot is very popular but is average for boiled seafood and is way over priced. I went in there with a friend last year and our lunch bill was $92. He ordered crab legs, he got 4 of them for around $47 And they weren't even steamed, just thrown in with boiled shrimp. The legs where full of water and the meat was just mush. I wish the town had a quarter the restaurant selection that Port Aransas has.

We also have a place down there and have been off the beating path plenty of times over the years. You can get lucky and find some good food, but theres not one place that really stands out. The kind of place that you can recommend to somebody and know without a doubt that they wont be disappointed in what ever they get. There's plenty of places for a good hamburger and decent fried everyday tasting food.

Been going since 1972 and I can say this I miss Corkys and Kliens. Everything else is just average. The best breakfest use to be the Dinner you could'nt beat the Trifecta for $3.00 but that now is overpriced and not of the same caliber. The Big Fisherman between Rockport and Aransas Pass is not what it use to be either and reeks of Ketchup.

The Big Fisherman has been closed with a for sale sign up for a long time. I will never go back to Charlotte Plumbers, bad service and the food was not good either. Crab N is pretty good, Panjos for pizza, but the service is subpar, have to try some other places mentioned above.

We were there a few weeks ago. Not impressed by Charlotte Plummers.
We also went to The Chartroom - we actually ate on the Grog's Bar side. Nice environment, good tasting entrees, but the sides were pretty pathetic (VERY blah.) The $30+ bucks per plate hurt my overall opinion of the place. For that amount of money, it better ALL be good - and plenty of it. My sea bass portion was about 4-5 oz. My wife's scallops were good, but there were only 4 of them ($37 if I recall correctly.)
Our best meal was going to the Fresh Seafood Market in Port A and fixing it ourselves!

Panjo's was the best food we had by far. I will say, that was some good pizza and cheap draft beer.
We ate at Moondogs and it was ok but the atmosphere was great. Shrimp nachos are a must eat there.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

The Italian restaurant on Fulton rd is also great.
