I really like my VLTOR IMOD for carbine type stuff. The EMOD is a tad longer. Though the magpul STR looked really cool to me.
Just need to figure out what you want (QD points, storage spots, ect) how much you want to spend, and finally looks.
Don't forget that buffer tubes come in two sizes.

I keep my stock pretty short when shooting. It gives me more stability and quicker and better muzzle control as well as target acquisition. I'm liking the Magpul CTR okay so far. It gives me flexibility as stability.
