"hunting" from a high seat for me is like fishing...... forced relaxation for a few hours unless something comes along and takes the line or offers a safe shot that would ruin the tranquility

nothing showed itself except for about a gazillion birds, but roe were snorting, barking, and raising hell just out of sight... After unloaded and walking out of the woods, was about ran over by a bunch of hogs that some mountain bikers scared up..... Had it been 15 minutes before, they would have probably settled down within 50 yards of my seat..... I left when it was too dark for a safe shot tho.....

Gotta love the forest floor being open and almost park like. I'd always heard about but never seen it before.

The Corps of Engr's land across the street from my house has that kind of heavily wooded feel to it...but is over grown with underbrush reaching for the sunlight to the pointwhere it is impassable.

Beautiful indeed.

Nothing like getting out and enjoying a small slice of heaven. A place that your worries go away and you let someone else hold the weight of your world while you relax and enjoy the view. Thanks for sharing cheers

Germany's a pretty country. My wife spent a few months there with work.

I too like your gun (I'm a lefty).

I saw plenty of deer blinds in Germany. If you don't mind my asking, are you hunting public or private land, and what are your options there?

it varies... in my area, the private stuff is ridiculously expensive (2k +/- per year) and you have to be a flunky and lick alot of [censored] in order to get in... Then be available on a whim if someone wants to go work in the area.... and put up with folks that you'd just as soon knock the hell out of... After all that, you get to pay damages that the wildlife (deer and pigs) do to crops/pastures.... find a buyer for your meat, etc....

There is public land that you can get for 6-800 per year for about 120 acres... show up and hunt when you want, no damage fees, stands are built, placed, and maintained by the forest service folks, and you dress whatever you kill (pigs and deer) and hang them in the cooler on your way out of town... If you want it yourself, you pay for it by dressed weight (trophy is free). I'm probably gonna take one of them leases this year or next... Hunting in the area for free now on invites, but kinda wanna break away from the guys I have to be friendly with to get invited....
The pics are from the forestry area.... most of it is clean as you see....

What kind of game are you hunting?

Also, is that a BLR browning rifle?

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Thanks for the info! Man, that raccoon dog is interesting. Kinda looks like the result of a badger and a raccoon after a night of inebriated splendor...
