For those of you that reload Nosler Partitions, what kind of accuracy have you been able to get? I'm particularly interested in 7MM results as I've tried loading these in several different 7mm-08's and have never been able to get them to shoot any better than about 1 1/2" CTC at 100 yds when these same 7mm-08's were shooting other bullets 3/4" or better.
I've only tried them with IRM3350 @ ten thousands off the lands so maybe there is another powder charge and seating depth that would work better.

My 7mm-08 prefers 140 gr accubonds over partitions. about the same group as yours with partitions, about 3/4" with accubonds, and a little over 1/2" with 120gr TTSX.

I've never been able to get the Partitions to shoot as good as other bullets. But for hunting accuracy and the terminal performance you get from the Partitions, they are hard to beat.

What Chad said +1. Nosler Red Box SP's always shot & performed good for me - better than Hornady'd did that was everybody's darlin's at the time & I could not afford Sierra's - and the Red Box bullets were half the price of PT's back in the late '60's when I started relaoding.
Bought some of the very last run of these Red Box styled chamfered base 130gr FB SP's from SPS couple years ago ...bought 250 or 300 I forget, and should have bought a K or more....and would have if the guy on the phone had told me the truth when I asked if these were gonna be around for a week or so.
My current Tikka T3 270 SS/syn sez this is it's favorite bullet with a max load of H4831SC & WLR's under the boolit and delivers dime sized groups of 4 rnds ...8 rnds or ?? never pushed it beyond 8 at a time with the barrel heating up in 1 rnd a minute sessions. Ron

They shoot great in my 223 and 270. Both will clover leaf every group with the occasional one holer if you do your part.
I load them for my dads 280 rem also. They shoot good out of his gun, but not as good the others, will usually hang right around an inch group. On the other hand it is a 25 year old gun with a 25 year old scope and the barrel is not floated. Im sure that has something to do with it as it heats up very much with just a little shooting due to the light mountain rifle barrel.

In my loadings they are all seated fairly deep/have a bigger jump to the lands.

I'd try seating a little deeper in .005" increments. my .280 likes 250-grain Partitions seated about .025" off the lands and it's a pretty consistent MOA or better performer. I've seen rifles that shoot Partitions into one hole, too.

Thanks guys.. I appreciate the feedback. Bottom line is I've got the 120 Nosler BT's shooting great at 1/4" (See Range Report) and based on many performance reports I've read ( Here is one) they "should" handle anything I might hunt here in Texas. (Deer, Hogs, Coyotes) I like the 120's for their light recoil; however, I've never hunted with any BT's and want a good 140 gr waiting in the wings "just in case". For this I'm initially looking to 140 Nosler Accubonds / 140 Nosler partitions. (Will try others later) Chuck & GLC The 140 Accubonds have shot MOA or better in every rifle I've tried them in. With the new custom 7mm-08 I expect them to be as accurate as the 120 BT's. How have they performed on game for you? I see they have a minimum 1,800 FPS impact velocity. Have you ever had an issue with them not opening up? Chad & Wiley For me MOA is acceptable. redchevy & River Rider It's good to hear that some of you have actually gotten the Partitions to shoot well. I 've always loaded them 0.010 off the lands and have never really put much effort into really working up a load for them as I've always had several other bullets that would perform much better. I will try loading them deeper in .005 increments. I've got some IRM4350 and H414 to start with. What powders are you guys using? I really like the design of the Partitions. ie. front blows off depositing energy & devastation and the base retains mass and passes on through. (I like two holes) I'm thinking that more or less you get the same thing from the Accubond.

firstshot425, I actually like the Nosler Ballistic Hunting tip for expansion over the Accubonds for hunting. I have shot both in my 7mm08, 308 and 300 win mag. but as far as expansion I like the hunting tip better. Bot are very accurate though. In my off the shelf Savage deer gun 7mm08, I am .25 to .375 group at 100 yards with IMR 4064 at 42 grains 30 thousandths off of the ring lands, 140 grain bullet. But this load was tested at 50 degrees may act differently in this heat.

I've tried the partitions in just about every caliber I've owned and only had two that kept groups down to 1.5" - my first 25-06 and a 243. I used the 25-06 to take my first two elk at the whopping long ranges of 42 and 50 paces. Both were DRT with neck shots. Since then I've used several other bullets to get sub-moa groups out of both rifles. Haven't tried them in my 7mm-08 and probably won't.

I try not to hunt center fire with anything but Partitions unless p'dogs coyotes or the like. 243 100gr, 6.5-06 125 gr, 30-06 150 and 180 gr (it REALLY likes 180s), 338 Win 225 gr. IMR 4895 and IMR 4831. All shoot MOA or a little better but the 180 in .30-06 is 1/2 MOA. Bullet is just a little big for our white tails.
IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT.

My 257 AI will shoot Partitions under 1/2". I used to shoot Partitions in the 280 until Accubonds came out.

Well... I see there's a few more here that have gotten the Partitions to shoot well. I'm definitely going to give them a try in my new custom 7mm-08.... (right after if see how the Accubonds do)

i get 1/2" groups with 150grain partitions out of my 7mag. They are hot shooting handloads, but perform flawlessly.

I love Speer Spitzer Soft Point Boat Tails. Very accurate, not tough enough for hot cartridges IMO. 7mm-08 should be great though.

Texas Shag If I can get 1/2" groups out of the 140's I'll be tickled.
Gravytrain The Speer 7mm 145g Spire Point Hot-Cor's (flat base) are one of my all time favorites for 7mm-08. These have been accurate (Sub MOA) and deadly on whitetail and hogs. I will definitely be working up a load for these as time goes on. I've never tried the SPBT's though.

I shot them in my '06 for a lot of years. But the groups were over an inch with the 165 grain bullets. The 150s right at an inch. They shot well enough but when the fusion line came out I tried them and never looked back.

Partitions are killing machines. The small bit of accuracy you give up to me is a fair trade off. I love Partitions!
