Have a small group of 5 that show up on our game cams once in awhile on our place in Knox County.

I live about 4 miles NE on Elmdale. Guess they are spreading out in our area. Like to see the lil critters around. Used to have a blast hunting them all over West and South Texas.

I shot one in Baylor county just outside of Seymour
Tx about 5 yrs ago as a guest on a low fence river bordering hunting lease,
So they do exist and come to corn feeders

There is a season in some counties for them, never open season in other counties. Here in Clay county it is never open for Javelina. Just saying be careful not to break game any laws. Not like feral hogs that we can shoot anytime. We have seen a few around here.

What's the difference in a collared peccary and a javelina?

Only the spelling, they are one in the same.

Maybe trying to restore them to their former range?
