So what's the word with private duck hunting in North Texas (DFW)? I assume there are clubs / leases in the North Texas area, but I have never really looked.... I've always hunted public. Was thinking more for next year really, but would not mind paying to have access to a nice place where I could spend some mornings. If you have any general ideas on what I could expect to pay, that would be good too... just a ball park. Need to know how much buttering up I need to do to the wife over the summer I did hear of pintail farms, but that the prices were $4500-$7500 a year. I don't quite have that much butter on hand. I've paid up to $1500 for deer leases in the past, and I was kind of thinking about the same here.... that is.... if something is available in that range. Thanks!

best thing you can do is get as far away from the metromess as you are willing to drive, and start knocking on doors. I would not mention money. Just ask them if they allow people to hunt their tanks, creeks etc.

Pintail is 7500..If you have a address that is like 300 miles away you can get it for 4500..Most run anywhere from 1ooo to 2000,,just depends on what you want..lodging,how many places to hunt,..start looking now..they are hard to find...

I hear what you are saying about getting away from Dallas, but instead of just jumping somones stock tanks or creeks, I was more looking for something where I could put a real nice blind.... or maybe a club that had nice blinds already built. Something I can invest both time and money in to make it a great place to duck hunt for years to come.
In all acutallity, I would probably only be able to hunt about 10-15 times a year, but just thought I would ask around to see what my options would be.

Oh I got ya. You would be suprised. the blind thing maybe not. But a good lay down blind is nice. Maybe after you break the ice, they gain a little trust in you. Then start talkign about leasing it so you can put a blind on it. May work may not.
I have never seen an affordable club that looked like it was worth a flip.
But I was in no way referencing jump shooting.

Greg, I know of a place locally. I looked into it over the summer but just couldn't justify the cost this year. The price ranges depending on the priveleges you want. Basically it's about $1200.00 for waterfowl only and they have numerous places throughout the state. You reserve the spot you want to hunt and you have exclusive rights to it for a week. I'll get you the info on it.

Geeee... thanks!!!! Don't send it to him Kevin.
Just kidding dmax. I know I'm not alone in a search here. I will let you know if I find anything. Might have more of an appeal to a land owner if I could tell them that we had x amount of guys willing to pay x amount of dollars to lease.

Greg,
I have about 20 plus guys in our club who have been looking for the same thing for years. Well we just decided to purchase 600 acres of land and start the developement process. If something comes up I will let you know.
Thanks, LWR2
