As i sit here waiting for clients and essentially hating life since i am not out hunting today i wonder how the rest of the world has done. But the only thing that keeps me going is the fact that this week while cold and nasty i will be out there with limited competition. anywho let me know how everyone has done.

Pretty windy here, I went yesterday and the birds just didn't cooperate. 1 GWT. I wussed out this morning (30mph gusts) but a guy I talked to hunts my spot when I'm not there and they only came away with a GWT... Bad weekend.
Wasn't born in Texas, but I got there as fast as I could.

yeah the winds are kicking here aswell. buddies up in the panhandle didnt do so well either. yesterday stayed on a friends private land and it was slow to me but i did get my first eagle head so i will count it as a plus. myabe this week will bring some better hunting.

went on diver hunt this morning. didnt shoot any divers. or puddle ducks. had a couple small groups give us a look but swing wide. crappy morning.
the coot migration however, is in full swing right now. saw over a thousand of them. buster was going nuts wanting me to cut loose on em. he cant tell the difference between a coot and a duck. he is a stupid dog.
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.

Got some rain in the area...seems like the winds will die down some this afternoon/evening...think I'll make a long drive here in a bit and see if I can't shoot some birds...we'll see how that goes though..

3 GWT drakes this morning. Had to leave fairly early today. Watched a quite a few come and go. I tend to like to watch them.

3 mallards and a wood duck hen for me
1 mallard 2 gadwall and a gwt for hunter #2
2 mallards for hunter #3
All in all a good hunt, we should have shot a few more but waited for them to make another pass that never happened.
We did get to witness mallards by the 100's pouring in to the property next to us that no one hunts. It was like nothing I have ever seen, and it was still going on at 11:00am when we left.
We felt lucky to get the ducks that we did, its hard to compete against that

no marc, he had planned to hunt with his dad...no pictures, my camera was out of battery's....but both of my other 2 hunting partners when for a dip retrieving decoys, at least it wasnt cold

one of the guys was stuck in knee deep mud and could not get out, and when the water went over the top of the waders I could not help but laugh. Then he got mad and started yelling "stop laughing you MFer". At that point I lost it and started laughing even harder, so hard I was crying.
Who needs enemy's....

going out tomorrow it was to windy here in west texas for me, tomorrow were suppose to have high's in the upper 30's and freezing rain i cant wait we have tons of geese and mallards now i went scouting tonight

I felt kinda bad later, but I made it up and went to Cabelas right down the hiway from our place and got him a pair of shorts so that he wouldnt have to drive home naked

Hunted with a buddy of mine. We had plenty of birds early. But, we set up wrong for the wind conditions and they kept over shooting our hole and got sucked into a hole 60 yards away. After the first flight, I went over and checked it out and took two greenheads while I was over there. The high wind kept them down for the rest of the day. Live and learn. Still a good time...
