This will actually be the first hunt for both of us. We have gone on our land, but we don't have that many turkey and have never seen one while hunting. A friend is setting us up for a spring hunt, on a ranch near Weatherford, and they have got the birds. She's only 7 but she's already pretty good on the slate and box call. We have spent many an hour ( driving mama crazy ) with the primos dvd rolling practicing our calling. I'm already getting excited hoping that she gets a bird. Great thing about hunting with her is even if we don't see a thing she will still have a ball.

That is great hope it goes well. Funny thing even if it's not a 'perfect hunt' (are they ever?) it will be memories. Took my step-daugher hunting when she was 14 we camped out for two nights did not see any deer, it was chilly, windy, rainy, we forgot the can opener, my truck didn't start one morning, lost my cell phone couldn't call for help ..... etc etc. She can recite everything that went wrong BUT such great memories.
Sorry not stealing your thread I think it's great your going and taking your daughter and that you'd be more excited if she gets a kill then if you do. That's easy to read.

Yeah that what it is about the memories. My oldest boy took his first buck this year and I know the look of pride on his face will be etched in my memory forever. He went from a young man with an interest in hunting to a hunting nut in one week. I know when I was his age a rifle, shotgun, and fishing pole kept me out of a lot of trouble. Now its time to get my girl hooked.

I'm sure it will be a blast for her dogleg, and you too for that matter. I know lots of daddys that have never taken their kids on a hunt. Sad to say but it happens
Bartender, bring me anything except brake fluid, cause I don't plan on stopping!

It is so awesome to hear that you are taking your daughter on your turkey hunt. Watch out, because they will get hooked! My son asks every weekend to go out hunting for anything.
