Sorry the late report.
Had a fantastic hunt with my son in Llano a few weeks ago. We saw a nice Tom strutting as we pulled into the gate Friday evening. Got to the camp house, unpacked, and went on a hike to see if we could roost some birds in another part of the ranch. We didn't hear gobble all evening. Saturday morning we were set up in the dark in a pop-up blind with a hen and jake decoy. Not a sound as it got light. I periodically called over the next 20 minutes and a gobbler finally answered. Then more silence. About 15 minutes later a hen strolled past to our left, coming from the direction of the gobble. After she got behind us, I called, she answered and the gobbler went ballistic. He was moving toward us in the brush, gobbling every step of the way. He overshot to our right, I called again and he made a beeline to the jake decoy- strutting all the way into our clearing. He attacked the deke with a wing chop and a few pecks and finally cleared to the side. My son made a great shot. It was a wild morning and we hope to get many more hunts together.
can someone help me with pics. I followed the instructions- seclected my pic, hit updload and nothing happerns.
