Does anyone know if Montague County is having a 2nd rut? Friends across the street from me said his buddy hunts on the Cooke/ Montague line and the deer are in full blown rut. His buddy got at 8 point that scored in the 160 that were chasing does hard. I was wondering if anyone had any info. By the way first post but reading lost of info on her for some time great site.

I am no help for Montague county, but welcome to the forum

It is either still going or is in the 2nd phase. My place is off Wagonseller Road South of Bowie. I got a huge buck last weekend. It and a runt were chasing a doe. I also saw another buck hanging out on the side of a pasture watching a feeder.

I hunted last week and my buddy got his 10 checking a feeder out for does.

I want to see a picture of a 160inch 8 pt b/c that would be one of the biggest EVER I believe! Especially for Montague bucks which normally have a lot of trash to score big

i hunt in illinois bend on the cooke/montague line ill let you know when i get back next week. what was your buddys name? i hunt with a few people who think a 110" deer is a really 160" any pics?

I never saw the deer just going off what was said. Deer always look bigger to the one shooting it. I have no idea if it scored in the 160 or not but I don't want to call some one a liar either.
