Do y'all think a 12ga 3" O/U with 1 turkey choke and 1 extra full shooting #5's will kill at 60-65 yards?
I have birds that are spooky from the decoys and I have both that shotgun and a rifle with me. Missed the headshot with the rifle earlier and now I'm gunshy.

Lots of variables here. Have you patterned your gun? what type of shot?
General consensus without knowing the variables is no. Keep your shots within 40 yds.
Either ditch the decoys, or, if you know the direction they're coming from, place them downrange from you to allow for them to be in range when they get spooky.

I would say No. I have a hard time bringing myself to shoot at a turkey at 40 yds even. I know it is doable and have done it, but the odds are less- at 60 yds even more so.
I ALWAYS put my decoy 10-15 yds behind me. It will bring the turkeys in that much further if they hang up at 50-60 yds from decoys, which they like to do.
be patient. Half the time the bird will come closer after getting hung up. Just stay silent, or give a few clucks and purrs every now and then. Let him know you'r still interested, but leave him wanting more.

My Benelli Cordoba will easy do 50y with the full crio choke, but I have spent a box of 2x4s to see what it will do. I still wouldn't want to have to take that shot.
I would bet they are spooky from being shot at with the rifle.

I don't like to shoot over 40 yards. There are folks that really put the time in to their setups and chokes and loads that can, But I am more comfortable in the 20 to 30yard range.

My two teenage boys both took toms one at 50 yds and one at 55 yds using winchesters new long beard ammo. We practiced with regular turkey loads then with these felt pretty confident they could take birds out to 60 yds. We set up so they would come in at around 30 yds but it just didn't workout they would hang up. That ammo is awesome that being said I feel much more comfortable at 40 yds. I remember before we knew what turkey loads and chokes were we would call them in and shoot them at 20 yds with dove loads.
