Well I guess I'll go out this weekend and build a few permanent stands up in a couple trees. Need to get out there and do it before it gets too hot. Can't wait though, love being in the woods!

The "work" is almost as much fun as the hunt. I look for any reason to get out there

The "work" is almost as much fun as the hunt. I look for any reason to get out there I'd have to say it is the funnest part for me. Hunting and seeing the wildlife enjoying the work you have done and doing it comfortably is the "ahhhhh" moment.

Playing in the woods is fun no matter what you're working on.
Adult late onset hunter. Why did I wait so long to get started?

whats a good source for building plans for a blind? I'm no carpenter but i can follow directions easy enough. I need something pretty basic, don't even need it on stilts.

Find a good tree that splits into 2 or couple trees close together. Get some screw in steps and your way up the tree. Take couple 4 foot 2x6 boards and lag bolt them to the tree on each side then take couple more boards for your floor and screw them to the existing boards and you have a stand.

I remember those days. "Permanent" stands. You can make them pretty comfortable.
