Does anyone else have shotgun fever already? I've got it bad. I think a 20 gauge Franchi Affinity might cure me right up. What do y'all plan to get this year?

I'm ready for a new shotgun but I'm cheap and will wait to hopefully get a good deal on a Browning A5 but if not ill settle on the Franchi Affinity myself also. But in 12Ga.

I am looking for a new shotgun for as well for this hunting. I have research alot of auto shotguns, and I have decided to go with the Beretta A300. They are around $650-$750 new.

You can't go wrong with the Browning A5, trust me! My buddy has one, and for its price compared to others, it's an amazing 12ga.

The Beretta A300 on the other hand is an amazing gun as well. I think since I'm guiding this season, I'm going with any of the Beretta .391s, just haven't made up my mind yet.

Good luck finding one. Kinda wish I had bought some new for investment.

Tax refund was a joke so I guess its the 870 again. New back patio being built so no gun in my future. Always next year

Agreed. I bought the A5 last spring and love it. Also have a Beretta 391, and it is a great gun as well. If I was trying to stay under 1K I would go with the A300.

The Browning with its inertia driven action packs a little more punch than the Beretta, but it is also easier to clean. The Beretta is not difficult to clean though. Can't go wrong either way. I just have a thing for that hump back, and the new Browning is a solid performer on both light and heavy loads.

I got an old A5 that shoots 3 inch shells if someone needs one . It in perfect shape

I do love my A5. It was my dad's gun so I can't stand the thought of getting it camo dipped. The Affinities are sweet.

I bought a new A-5 last spring and absolutely love it. It never missed a beat on my SD pheasant hunt last fall. I am going to spend a bit more time on the skeet and trap range this year though!

I know. Unless I want to save up for a new one, finding a used .391 is the real struggle, that's for sure.

Camo dipping is good for looks but overrated for hunting value.

I already have a Berretta and Browning semi-autos, so I went the other direction. Picked up a Yildz 28ga O/U - can't wait to pop some dove/quail with it.

I'm a duck guide out in Garwood, and I think the same thing. As much as I love the camo that some companies do, I tend to stick to the ol' wooden stock.

I mean I have a camo A5, don't get me wrong, but I like my shotguns brown over camo. It just looks nicer, that simple.

Garrett knows what's up. A dipped gun is worth the extra price for the extra protection it gives the gun. The camo it gives is just a bonus. The actual benefit the camo gives is probably very small and depending on where you are hunting on a given day might be zero...but it's never a negative unless you are talking about what makes a shotgun pretty...like art pretty.

To me you have two types of shotguns...hunters and art/nostalgic. It's fun to hunt with either but your everyday hunting is going to be a hunter gun.

Yea, which is the honest reason I hunt with my camo A5. Haha.

Camo might not make too much difference in a duck blind, but in the middle of a dove field late in the season when the birds are spooky, I think camo makes a big difference.

I bought a 20 gauge browning silver hunter in October, didn't shoot any dove with it but wore out the ducks.

Love that gun, much smoother than my 1100

IMO 20 gauge is the way to go for dove
