I went to Saskatchewan over spring break ice fishing and managed to catch my biggest northern pike by over 10 pounds. smile
This sow weighed in at 22 pounds 9 ounces. 43 inches long with a 22 inch girth!! What an absolute blast it was. I've missed tip up fishing so much.
For those that don't know, tip up fishing you pull the fish in by hand. Make's for an interesting battle when one of these pigs is on the other end!

Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life.

No, it was really nice that day.
This picture....yeah this was FRIGID. Pulled the fish out of the ice hole and almost immediately it's eyes began to freeze over.

Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life.

Yes sir, they are. Fattest i've ever seen/caught. It felt like you had hooked a freight train when you set the hook.

That must have really hurt pulling a fish that big out of your ice hole

I used to ice fish for money and in tournaments as a kid. It's nicer here.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

Great fish... Love to ice fish, but haven't been in years. Probably the only guy in Argyle TX with an ice auger in his garage.

Nice! How thick was the ice? Catch it on smelt, sucker, minnow?

Nice catch. I've done my share of ice fishing. I prefer the "nice" fish house with the wood burning stove and reels mounted to the wall with tinker bells in them. up

We caught a majority of the fish on BIG ciscos and mackerel.
Here is a pick of a mackerel, shortly after I took this photo I caught my 22 pounder on this bait smile
BTW....my boot is about 13-14 inches long!

In his permanent shack he had a little wood stove that used to be a propane tank. Very cool design!
We cooked moose sausage on that bad boy!
