Yesterday, after returning from a cousins funeral, Mom, Dad, and me stopped at Lockharts for an early dinner. SOLD OUT! They said the bar is open though if you'd like to wait until 6:00. It was only 4:30. Mom and dad said they'd just go to Dickey's. I stayed, bellied up to the bar and had a couple of 'Deep Eddy ruby red' martinis. Killer. At about 5:30 the line started forming at the meat counter. After waiting for an hour and a half I left with 2 lbs of the smokiest, most savory melt in your mouth brisket I've ever eaten. The bark was incredible with a sweet and salty flavor. If you go, get there early as they sell out quickly. Definitely going back for more awesome Q.

I was very impressed when I went a couple weeks ago. It may be my 2nd favorite BbQ in DFW behind Pecan Lodge

Get there at 5:30, grab a beer and get in line. The BBQ hits the cutting table at straight up 6:00. I promise you, it's some of the best I've ever eaten. You'll smell like smoke until you shower though.

Yes It's near k and 15th. I didn't make it, went to Angry Dog for a burger instead. Still want to try it though.

Love this place! I've been eating at the one in Oak Cliff since it opened, but I'm glad that I don't have to make that drive.

On a slightly different note, we tried to stop by for lunch today and the line was out the door, so we walked a block further to Cajun Tailgaters. Coming from someone that grew up in Baton Rouge, they have some great Cajun food!

Lockharts is great. The key to the one in Plano is to arrive at 1050 and the line is only 10 deep. It is my 2nd favorite BBQ in DFW behind Pecan Lodge

Ruger, I've heard of pecan lodge. Isn't that near the farmers market? I heard it's real good.
