We think we have squirrels that are getting in the attic of my dad's lake house. How do we catch them? I'm going to set up some Stealth Cams to try to confirm that its squirrels, but if it is I need to know how to get rid of them

You can try tossing moth balls around the attic. Or, fox urine. It seems to really clear them out but it has a reek. The big trick is to cover the access point with a one way gate so they can get out but not back in otherwise they can get in the walls and die. And that is a smell you don't want.

Do NOT do the Moth Balls!!!!!
The place will stink and you will still have vermin in the attic.
I had the same problem. Listened to the same advice.

You need to use a ladder to take a look for possible entry points around the roof of your home. The hole the Squirrels are using to get in and out will usually be chewed up and about the size of a baseball. First you need to seal up every entry point except the one they are using, so that they won't be able to see light coming from outside and chew their way to freedom once you've set up a trap. Then you need to acquire a trap of some kind. A one way trap will work, they will be able to exit but can't re-enter. You will need to place the trap just outside of the hole (you can secure the trap to the roof if you need to in order to keep it from sliding, just don't forget to seal up any holes you make in the wood or shingles) and then you need to funnel them into the trap. The easiest thing to do is buy some hardware cloth (chicken wire) and create the funnel by blocking off the area outside of the hole so that the only way the Squirrel can exit is through the trap. You can place some fruit or nuts just outside the trap door to entice them out but they will eventually come out on their own to forage for food and water. You can also use a regular Squirrel trap but you will have to check the cage multiple times a day and free a trapped Squirrel by lifting the trap door at the back of the cage and then manually resetting the trap (if trap is fixed to the roof this can be done using a long screwdriver and your other free hand).

This is the closest photo I could find to illustrate how the trap should be set up. Hope this helps!
