I received a scope in the mail from Riton the other day to field test for them. It's a 4.5-18x40mm with a 1" tube.

I will be going out shooting this thing soon I hope.

The quick cell phone pics here are not good....and my oily handprints make it look like the scope is jacked up.

Anyone know what this is....

That's where they purged the air out of the scope and charged with gas of some kind.

Give them a big "F" in that section. If they're gonna put 1/4 MOA turrets on it, put an MOA reticle in it. Same is true for Mils.

I'm sure testing and writing a review is some work. I wish you the best with the project!

Is there something wrong with the finish or is just the pictures?

I FINALLY got a chance to get out to the range today and put the scope through some testing! Below are the specs of what I did and the results:

Equipment:
Stag Arms AR-15 16in 1:7twist
Ammo MK262 MOD 0 Black hills MOA Accuracy tested
Hart Competiton Rest
Protector Rear Bag
Warne Maxima Rings

Initial sight-in @ 50 yards then moved to 100.

@ 100 yards the scope would double/triple 1/4 adjustment until 3rd -4th shot and then settle in with occasional 8-10" flyers. Ammo was double checked for varience in MOA/Accuracy shift via Leupold MK4 10X Scope.

I zeroed the scope then attempted to do a "box" tracking test. After zero make 8 "click" adjustment up then shoot a 3 shot group. (This is where I was getting the double/triple MOA adujstment until the 3rd shot) Then made 8 "click" adjustment right and shoot another 3 shot group (once again had double/tirple MOA adjustment until 3rd shot) Then went down 8 "clicks" (again big jump for 2 shots) and then Final adjustment back 8 "clicks" left (would be back at original zero point) Once again had the big jumps in adjustments until the 3rd shot.

Eye Relief is long with a fishbowl effect @ high magnification. Overall glass clarity was good and apperance is good.

Good review, thanks. Sounds like they need to work on their internals. You can sometimes "fix" the jumpers by tapping the turrets with an empty or the butt of a screwdriver handle after adjusting/before shooting, but you shouldn't have to. Thanks again for the review.
