Does anyone know of a source of bulk raw peanuts by the ton???

Thanks Dave and Texflip I talked to Justin about it a year or so ago and due to the drought there wasn't any available that wasn't already contracted I'll try again and see if anything has changed. The ones on alibaba are out of my budget for deer food! LOL

I don't know the name of it but there is a peanut producer out south of Seagraves, TX. That's out west of Lubbock. They grow a lot of them out there. I picked up a 53' trailer full out there a couple of years ago.

I have 4 semi loads in the barn, $.70 pound in super sacks.

How do you feed these(method)? Are you using additional supplements along with the peanuts?

I have heard many different ways to feed peanuts.

One thing I see wrong is putting out to much at once, too many non target species take advantage of it.

Most common is just piles or troughs in your feed pens .

You can literally throw them at deer from the blind they love them. I've hit deer with them and they just keep eating them.

I've fed them in a regular spinner feeder. Either by themselves or mixed with corn. They are deer candy!
The deer will eat the peanuts before the even start on the corn.

+1 on the non-target species! When feeding peanuts, I've had crows, coons, even coyotes come in to eat them. But the deer seem to either ignore them or run them off. We do not have hogs, but I'm sure that they would tear down pens and root up feeders to get to them.

Yal feeding shelled or in hull peanuts?

My thoughts were to use them similar to Corning senderos in south texas but use during bow season if there's an abundance of acorns or lots of greens still around and they are not coming to feeders. It would be something they like, it's different and it's only available right where I put it! field run raw in shell peanuts is what I would like to use.
