Im sure this may been brought up or asked. But i want to hear stories of rage failures and accuracy issues. I discovered that the practice heads are 105-106 grains and the broad head is 99grns. anyone that knows more about archery than me, know if that 5-6 grains will effect POI? I emailed rage and they said that they have a +-5 grain tolerance in manufacturing and didn't seem to care i was having accuracy issues and deployment issues. in reality that means that you could be shooting a 95grn broad head and practicing with a 105grn practice tip. rage shooters should weigh theirs and make sure they aren't to far off.

Under 40 yards not that big of deal...over is a different story

I haven't used them, but I help track a deer two years ago that I'm pretty sure it deflected pretty bad, but I didn't see the shot either.
Actually remember the guy that shot with us at cinn creek when you put on the THF shoot, he would of won if he would of entered. It was his deer.
Then again one of the ranches I hunt borders a big bow hunting outfit and owner is pretty big on them.

I haven't shot a deer yet with one, can't wait. I have shot a hog, juvenilia, and a jack rabbit, total destruction. I know there is always a change of malfunction, just like any mechanical.

Mulie, that's a different story Alot of us hunt those animals That's why I shoot rocket sidewinders I've taken both the hypo and ulmer edge to a 100 yards. The old style rage gave me fits, the hypo not so much. Ulmer took the cake using same arrows. But hypo's performed well. I'd be more inclined to shot game over 50 with the ulmer just do to the smaller cutting diameter.IIMO

I have used the 2 blades since they have come out with no problems. I normally take a half dozen or more deer and exotics with them annually. Just like any other broad head others will have problems, but I've been lucky thus far out to 45 yards on a Oryx with a 2 blade extreme. Blew through one shoulder and came out the other shoulder aproximately 6-8".

Rages are probably the most loved and hated broadhead out there. I shot one deer and the arrow deflected after impact. Will never shoot another deer with one.
I use Spitfires and have for years and have killed a lot of animals. See no reason to change, but I don't shoot over 40 yards

I'm a hater. But I'm just not a fan of any mechanical head. I've used a few and Rage is one of the worst I've used.

where is the best place to get the ulmers? i want to try them. they look like they would do a good job anywhere, they are pretty strict on their map pricing so not much difference between retailers

I use Spitfires and have for years and have killed a lot of animals. See no reason to change, but I don't shoot over 40 yards I get if it ain't broke don't fix it. I wasn't a fan of orginal rage, but loved the titanium rage. But I got sick of changing the orings. The hypo fixed every complaint I had with rage. With that said I was pretty lery of the ulmer edge until I started shooting them. I think if rage made the hypo in a low KE (1.5 cut) I think ulmer and the hypo would dominate mechincals for big game. I'm werid I guess, I carry 2 heads in my quiver ulmer and solids. Solid shoots great for me at 60 yards but seems to be more subject to wind. But I've also busted through both shoulder of a whitetail with it before. If I'm mulie or pronghorn hunting I'm shooting my ulmers...whitetails well I just grab and arrow elk I grab the solid but would have no issue with the ulmer after my mulie last year, I pushed it to far and got extremely lucky. With that said I think the ulmer had a lot to do with fixing my mistake.
