We shot a disc the size of a man hole cover at 300 yards with my G35 40 cal. It took near a full mag to get on target. It's hard to do, but doable.

I've hit a 4'x4' board about 3-4 shouts out of 5 from a glock 23 once we got dialed it at under 300, I wanna say 285 yards. It was Vicky's because the cloud of dust from the back stop came up from behind the board. Couldn't tell where not be board but knew it came from behind.
I agree with the criticism of the grip angle and how it's not preferred by some. That's fair enough. But anyone who says Glocks are not accurate lose credibility with me. That 23 only had the lighter trigger connector. Aside for. That is the was the plain goal post sights and some generic Winchester ammo.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

Ive never been able to shoot better than my pistols, so I don't really know how accurate any of them are for sure.
I saw Bob Mundane shoot a small balloons with 38 snubnose SW at 20206 yards, and I want to say I saw him shoot an egg with a 1911 at 100yards.

Didn't know a 38 special would shoot 11+ miles. Have shot a lot of tin cans and drink bottles @100 yards with a 22lr revolver and semiauto, next time out to the range for longer range think I will try a 9mm @ 325 yards and might stretch it to 500 if wind isn't too strong. See how far off Factory Tangent sights are on a Browning High Power.

Furthest I have shot pistols is 100. I can get good hits with my TRP and my S&W PC 629. Have not shot the G19 much at 100, and cannot remember how I did.

Bob Mundane was THE BEST, real superhuman when it came to firearms. He was Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee and Ali rolled into one and Kryptonite did not affect him. No brag, just fact.

My farthest handgun shots have all been done with my Ruger MK II bull barrel 6 7/8" model tricked out for bullseye competition. I have made several shots in the 100-120 yd range with it. It is equipped with the old, original Red Dot.
All my other long distance handgun shots have been with either a model 29 (.44 mag) or 686 (.357 mag) to distances of 75 yds.

There is a video of this from the Tiger Valley Team Sniper match from 4-5 years ago. I drilled a 4" pepper popper on the 3rd shot at a confirmed 138 yards with a G35 40 cal. Why did I use a pistol, because I was out of rifle ammo at that part of the stage and still had targets to shoot. I could see my first 2 misses just off the edge of the target and held for that, and hit it on the 3rd shot. It's definitely doable.

best I have seen in person was pure luck by my cousin. He shot a glass beer bottle stuck on a piece of rebar at about 80 yards free standing one handed with my 45 colt which he had never shot before on the first shot.
He couldn't replicate though.
