I was on my LGS yesterday and they had a Rock Island chambered in .22 TCM. I am a bit curious, but have absolutely no experience with the round. I've done a bit of reading, but wanted to get a general idea of what the folks here at THF thought.

The only pistol they had in stock was a 4.25" commander size. It appears there is a full 5" that also has a 9mm conversion included.

Havnt shot one, but it's a very intriguing round.

I've got to shoot one and I'm picking one up next week. Freaking awesome round. All that velocity with no recoil. Already picked up some dies for it before I even had the gun I loved it so much.

Howdy Fester. Did you go with the 5" combo with 9mm kit or the Commander size?

I shot the commander but went with the 5". Dead accurate at 100yds. Haven't shot the 9mm conversion in it butb sure it's like all the others. Getting the tac PAC with both barrels and springs though.

I'm interested in the gun just for the hi-cap 9mm abilities. I'm torn between the price of the Rock Island (which gets fine reviews) or saving up for STI.

Not too interested in the .22 tcm, no matter how good of a round it is, just because of the ammo $ and I don't want to reload a bottle neck pistol round.

Sweet round, but lawdy make sure you've got hearing protection in place. I've been getting ammo from our lgs for $20.00/50 round box.

He's right, it sure is one of the loudest pistols ive ever shot!! And thats a pretty good price for that ammo. My local gun store has them for 27.99 + tax. And only one outfit has the reloading dies that ive found so far. Its a gnarly round though. Pretty wicked looking cartridge.

I got a feel of the pistol a while back. Felt nice and solid. Now if only I had money.

I don't know if money can buy one. I've been looking since Saturday and can't find the 22tcm/9mm anywhere.

I have read about an affordable bolt action rifle in this caliber and haven't seen any for sale.

That's what I'm interested in, the rifle. Currently hunting for one.

I grabbed the Commander size. Other than gunbroker, I couldn't find the 5" 9mm combo. If one comes along, I may grab it as well though.

One thing I don't like is the grips. They have to go.

I'm hoping to get to the range tomorrow.

Anyone know when or if the TCM rifle will/has be released? As I understood at the end of the year the hold up was on producing the stocks for it in the Philippines. Haven't heard anything since.

When they come out with a conversion kit for a pre-existing 9mm 1911, then I'll be interested.
