http://www.ducks.org/conservation/public...e-epw-committeePossible price increase from 15-25 bucks being proposed by senate committee. Opinions? I'm for it.

It's a drop in the bucket. As long as it goes towards the intended purpose I'm cool with it.

I spend a lot of time in North Dakota working and have seen the incredible number of waterfowl that are produced in the waterfowl production areas and wetland easements that are purchased with duck stamp money.
Money well spent. One of the few things that the government does right.

Not every Barney is poor, just as not every real duck hunter is rich

I have a lifetime huntin and fishin license, so to raise my total cost from 15 to 25 will be fine

I'm in the opinion that it will probably increase total revenue, but really slow down increase of new duck hunters. (Of course can be good for self centered public hunters).
Nothing for someone who hunts the entire season, but for someone trying to see if they even like the sport and take them once or twice, it is already expensive enough.
For a lot of folks, especially younger folks, expendable income is closely monitored and for a non hunter to go duck hunting once: $25 for license, $7 for state stamp, box of shells $15, fed stamp $15. It is $70 minimum before walking out the door. An extra $10 could deter a lot of new waterfowl hunters.
However, I think it is time for an increase. Looking at it strictly $ income, it makes sense.

Hope it happens. It really should be a larger increase than that. I just wish it would've been done 20 years ago when it should have been. Think about it: gas was $0.99 then, now it's $3. Inflation has massively diminished our total conservation efforts.

Not a big deal for people who hunt all year, but like said above its crazy expensive for someone wanting to try duck hunting out. Some states have a one day, one time, free small game license, and the newbie has to be acompanied. This would be a great way to get new hunters involved. Ive got no problem paying 15 dollars more for a duck stamp, if the $$ is used for its intended purpose.

I have no problem with the increase to $25 but the $1000 comment is a little out there.

$1,000 bucks would only increase the number of poachers. This is true! When our bright legislators agree to raise fees, not taxes, they decrease the compliance rate. RE: inspection stickers, licence fees, hunting licenses, etc.!

What are you talking about? Even if the newbie never hunts again, 25 bucks is a drop in the bucket, whether you make 40 or 400K per year. Come on.

Someone wanting to try hunting also has to buy a license, state duck stamp, and most likely a hunters Ed 1 year exemption....not including shells or any other expenses. Read the whole thread
Come on!
