Hunt wise, anything going on out of the ordinary?

Good lord willing, I'll be headed out for antelope and mule deer in August and possibly a mouflon in December

If the mule deer hunt falls thru I'll go back after an elk

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Corsican hunt with Mulie Mike in March
Back To South Africa in September for a Cape Buffallo hunt
With any luck I'll draw a western tag for something cool this fall.

We have an elk hunt in Sept. We will put in for NM. If that doesn't pan out, then we will go back to our honey hole in CO on public land. We found us an awesome spot far off from the common ATV trails the rest of the hunters use. Either way, we plan to go.

Just got word tonight the land we hunt on sold, so we will be moving off that place. Seriously thinking about selling most my stuff, and just doing a long elk hunt this year.

Antelope in Wyoming, Mule deer in Kansas and Whitetail on my new ranch in Missouri. The rest will be lots of duck and goose hunting mixed with a few Pheasant and Grouse hunts.

Brown bear in April and that's probably it unless a good last minute deal comes up for elk or caribou in the fall

Depends on what is goin on... I got a feeling about mid September my life is gonna get turned upside down for the next 20 years or so.

Id love to do a pronghorn. Also considering WT in mexico with some buddies that have gone the past two years. Other than that pouring my heart and sould into growing deer we want to shoot on our place, think we will be getting 5-10 acres of food plot next year.

Mozambique in August for leopard and some plains game. Then sneakin' around the elk woods with Sneaky's crew in October. If I'm not broke after that I may try to find a muley on a broke-down ranch in west Texas.

If this journey starts with the words "I'm late" then prayers sent

So far:

First trip to Argentina in late March for red stags in the roar, fallow deer, and birds.

Back to Africa in July for 3 weeks....first week photo safari in Kruger with the wife, followed by 2 weeks buff, croc, and PG hunting with my brother.

Currently mulling buying a pricey Landowner's Tag for a private land elk hunt in Nevada.

Of course, doves in Texas, pheasant in Kansas.

And as usual, putting in 25-or-so applications for western state draw hunts(Arizona elk submitted just yesterday).

Haha, you'll have to try harder than that to hurt my feelings. We'd love to have you join us.

Top priority for me is to save up enough money to get a decent lab pup and train him/her myself to retrieve so I can have a dove/duck dog.

Seen plenty of muts trained to do it with no bloodline or pedigree. I would blow tons of cash on it. I think its a lot more of the training than the dog.

Arent dogs with the pedigree and bloodline easier to train? Also this will be my first gun dog so I want to increase my chances of successfully training as much as possible. Have always liked labs as dogs anyway.
