I have been using my .308 and i love it but its tearing them up too much. I really dont wanna drop bullet size because i use it to pig/deer hunt so im in the market for a new dog/cat killin stick. What do yall think? I also own a 7mm-08 if you think that would work fine

PS; I cant figure out how to post pictures of my blown up bobcats

Maybe something smaller. 22-250 or 220 swift?

I shoot a 22-250, and am VERY pleased w/it. It is fast, and as far as I have seen, has the punch to knock varmint critters down - hard!! I bought a second one for my sons to shoot when they get old enough.

Are you hunting for selling fur or just out killing critters?

22-250 or 243. Shoot 75-80 grain bullets out of 243.

.243 is good. It'll drop dogs to hogs. I would think your 7mm-08 would be just fine. (Unless you're just lookin to get another rifle banana2 )

My 220 does fine on small critters, but isn't quite enough on big pigs at distance. A 243 should be perfect if pig shooting is in the mix. I don't have a 243, so I went to the 260.

7mm-08 should give you about the same performance as your 308. I personally like 243 for varmints and just big enough to take that hog you'r sure to run into.
