I have seen videos of people skinning a deer with a truck and decided to give it a shot yesterday on the doe my son shot.
My brother got it on video, but suffice it to say it will be the only way I do it in the future!

I also like hanging a deer by the neck to quarter out verses the hindquarters, guts fall out easier (post skinning)and the hindquarters are easier to remove.

And to top it off, my son (16) cleaned his first deer and did a great job with it..

I've done it with a 4 wheeler and a rock and a rope. It works great.

After skinning it with the truck go on and try it without gutting it at all. The only thing you miss is the 2 little tenderloins. You can even get those as you drop off your carcus, just cut them out at that point. I have not gutted a deer in years.

I'm the same way no need to gut them.

I never gut a deer on the ground. I am trying to get my brother to go to keeping records of live weight and not dressed. I think it is more accurate. Problem is only myself and one other lease member do not gut on the ground. Even if I leave them hanging over night I will gut while hanging and drop the guts in a bucket. I believe in leaving the hide on if you are going to hang it. Water soaked meat is ruined in my book.

You can still get the tenderloins without completely gutting.
