Been wanting to do a CA finish on the Coco since I got it delivered!! Brass Sleeved and lip rest wrapped with Cocobolo & a Cocobolo single reed insert. This is becoming one of my favorite designs.

Triple, do you notice a difference in sound quality with the sleeved barrels? Curious as to why you go through the effort, cuz I know that can't be easy!

Thanks BULSPRG!

DB,

As long as the inside of the barrel is smooth and dense I havent noticed a difference; having said that "Regarding Barrels" the most change I have found is the length of the barrel will effect the sound a little. The most important part of the call is the Tone Board and the material used for them.

The brass sleeved barrels have been a pet project of mine to just simply seperate my calls from just anything on them market eventually I will do some in aluminum to give flavor to lighter colored woods.. When I began making calls, my goal was to make calls that you can not just go buy anywhere and I try to stay true to that as well as only make them one at a time with no CNC and no duplicator.

Robert A.

That confirms what I have found as well. I have noticed a slight difference in thin walled barrels vs. thick barrels, and where that thickness change is at. That is how I developed the particular shape of my barrels (and I like the way it looks).

Definitively a cool look. How's that brass on the lips on a freezing morning?
