Has anyone on THF ever leased from Don Jackson in Lampasas County. Currently trying to lease from him and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the guy. Thanks

I was looking for a lease 5 years ago just for myself. He said he had 60 acres he would lease me for $2200, I said no thanks. The group I have been with the last 4 years has leased from him in the past and quickly got off. From the sounds of it he is a pretty big double talker.

Spoke with him yesterday, he has 125 acres for $6k with no camp ground and 130 acres with camp for $7000. A little pricey for me and the family so we are still looking.

for that kind of money$$$ you could almost make your payments on the place. maybe that is what HE IS DOING

evidently you haven't priced land around Lampasas lately. Raw land 100-300 acres starts about $4K an acre and goes up from there for anything desirable. I don't think you could make much of a payment on $400k+ with $6k annually unless you put a heck of a lot down ... just saying.

but yes, that sounds ridiculously high for leasing that small of a tract anywhere in Lampasas county or adjoining counties.

Wouldn't recommend leasing from him.

Thanks for the heads up everyone, after speaking with him and reading what everyone has had to say I've decided not to pursue the lease and have notified him so he can try and get somebody else on it. Thanks again
