Back in the day, when I was a kid, I'd hunt in any sort of weather. Today, while hunting the wiley pig, I was in a box blind with small heater and I was still cold. Snow was blowing in the north facing window. As a kid, I hunted on a ladder stand, right out in the snow and sleet. Was I crazy or was I just young and stupid? Or maybe I just got old (or smart). Brrrrr. My hands are blocks of ice. And no pig to show for it.

Well, this is kind of a special pig. Big and white with black polka dots. I've been hunting him for months. He comes to the same feeder every day (says my camera), but at odd times. One of these times his visit will match up with my visit. Sooner or later I will dance a jig around his bleeding corpse...

I used to do the same thing for big bass. Sit in a boat thinking I was gonna catch the next state record and not be able to feel my toes. To heck with that.

I was the same way. Still am...a little. Tomorrow night I'll be in a box blind looking for a big boar we've named M&M. On camera from 11pm to 3am for the last couple of months. Never seen in the daylight. He's rooted up plenty of pasture and got a 4.0 on trap smarts.

Dang Orn, it'll be in the 60's on Saturday. Then again, if I had a big ol hog to chase after, I'd prolly be after him in the freezing cold too. Suit up good, ya hear! You need any help? :-)

It's supposed to be 12° tonight, but 27° tomorrow night...so it might not hurt so bad. Saturday is my wife's bday, so it'll be her day all day and night. And anytime you want to pop a pig, come on!

I worked with this guy that was telling me his fingers had been frost-bitten while deer hunting as a teen. I figured he had been way up north, but no he says "Drippin' Springs".

I used to hunt rabbits in my underwear in colder weather that that, now I freeze at the first sign of winter. What happens when we grow up?
back when we used to eat housecats we marinated them in louisiana hot sauce and soy sauce then season them with lemon pepper........then onto the grill slow cooking them 3 hours........excellent folded in tortillas and pico de gallo----Newgulf

No your not crazy. Earlier this month in Kansas I was chopping holes in the ice on a frozen lake using a double blade axe to be able to place floating Canada decoys for our morning hunt. It was -6 degrees with a wind chill much worse. Because I was breathing hard while chopping the ice I had to uncover my face and did suffer a little frostbite on my nose, but it was not much worse than a bad sunburn would be. I know I am not crazy, so you can't be crazy.

Deer hunting was almost always cold, and a lot of times it was cold and wet(yuck!).

Sniper John, yes you're crazy. It probably beats fightin' fires in the cold though, doesn't it? Wait a minute. Fire is hot, hmmm. Something to ponder.
