The thread about Rugers and the one on .22 handguns prompted me to ask my question. Has anyone had a problem with failure to eject(FTE) using American Eagle ammunition? Here is why I ask.
I am a Ruger fan and love .22 handguns. I have owned a Ruger Mark II .22 and a 9mm P-95 for years. The .22 has never jammed with any ammo and the 9mm has only had a couple issues due to other shooters limp wristing the gun.
With the ammunition scarcity I have bought .22 and 9mm when and where I could find it and wound up with some American Eagle in both calibers. This was my first experience with American Eagle .
I was shooting recently and my .22 began to have FTEs on every round of American Eagle and my 9mm began to do the same thing! Both had operated without issue using other brands just prior to shooting American Eagle in both guns.
I cleaned both guns and Friday tried them again. Both shot other ammo with no problem but as soon as I loaded American Eagle the .22 became a single shot requiring me to manually work the bolt on every round. The 9mm ejected about 1 out of three shots fired. I switched back to other ammo and the 9mm worked fine but the .22 still had some issues.
Fully functioning guns with other brands and almost 100% FTE with American Eagle makes me look at the ammunition but to have the same problems in two calibers ??...Anyone else have this problem or can you offer any ideas as to the cause otherwise?
Thanks in advance.

I have some AE .22 but haven't shot any. Sounds ammo related. Is it all from one box or is there several small boxes in one big box?
Pass the gravy.

2 50 round boxes of .22 bought at same time at Academy and one box of 9mm from Gander Mt. I do know the AE is the cheapest .22ammo I have bought at $2.69 a box. All other .22 has been $2.99 or more. I buy at Academy and it just depend on what they have at the time. I've shot Blazer and CCI standard which have been new to me. I always shot Remington, Federal or Winchester or CCI mini mags in the past and never had any issues.

bought several cases of AE 9mm just before the ammo shortage (a very luck coincidence on my part) and have been shooting them through all my guns and haven't had any problems. except a few ftf on a brand new p938 and when shooting 115gr though a kimber solo (worked fine with the 124gr). would purchase again
