Buy the Cabelas brand and if you tear a hole in them take them back.. I got a pair for about $250 and happy with them.

Academy brand, don't even need the receipt or box to return them, I lost my receipt to cabelas and they wouldn't exchange them, even with the box.

Does it matter how long you have had them before you can't take them back?

Cabelas or Academy. All waders will rip, not all places will take things back. These two will, Academy is a piece of cake.

Cabela's replaced a pair of waders for me earlier this year. I had the box and receipt. They told me the warranty was only good for one year but they would change them out for me that one time. I'd never heard that before, and it was the first time I'd tried to exchange waders at Cabela's.

I've had a pair of cabelas armor flex waders and I've put holes in them and returned them 2 times so far. Didn't have the box or receipt either time and they exchanged them no problem. Cabelas in Ft. Worth... Barbed wire sucks!

Super warm, and they'll make you wet with sweat if you don't dress right. I usually only wear my wader pants under them. Add a layer and ill be wringing water out of my socks and pants after each hunt. And theyre tough!

I love cabbalas but lately they have been hard to deal with. Took a buddy up there to fit a bow and tests some and my (older) friend was treated terribly by the guy because he was an amateur asking questions. I walked away after the first rude comment. I know its not the best place for a bow fitting but this guy was just looking for something to mess around with but rear to spend $$$. My buddy only picked up one bow before being laughed at and harassed by guys at the counter (also older) before walking away. I mean a 50 year old asking a 65 year old for assistance and you would have thought it was high school.

Additionally they stopped putting prices on half the stuff so you have to go freakin scan it at or ask somebody.

I have Cabela's waders and love them! I have never had any trouble returning items to Cabela's if its their brand whether I have receipt or box or not.

For people who exchange them at Academy without receipt or box. What do you tell them?

I've taken waders back to both academy and cabelas. I've been treated good once and hassled once at both. If you dont get taken care of go back another time and deal with someone else. It's amazing how an idiot working at the store cant give you the wright answers. A guy at cabelas told me they didn't offer a extended warranty on waders because they're covered for 3 years any way. Another jerk tried to charge me 60.00 to exchange a leaking pair because the pair I bought were on sale and the new one's were reg. price. It took me an hour to explain that it was item for item.
