I would get something with good glass and optional 50mm reticle.

Price wise I would get a Leupold vx 2 3x9x50

I have used several and with this I've killed everything I wanted with light and even a moon like tonight

You can only shoot as far as your light will travel

I highly recommend one with a lighted reticle or dot, think. You'll like it much better

I've been using a VX-3 3.5-10x50mm with an illuminated german no.4 with dot. Couldn't be happier with it. I've shot pigs at 150 plus with no problems at night. Can see them much father than that too. Although I'm using at Wicked W400 green light too.

Rather than buy an expensive night scope, I got a high intensity red LED light that clamps to my scope. Works great. Still, it has its limitations in that you have to look around with the light to see what's out there, unless you can hear the hogs at the feeder. It lights up critters real well out to about 150 yards and I can see the standard crosshairs really well.

The new Redfield Scopes are hard to beat for the money(owned by Leupold) definitely get a 50mm objective, low light and night hunting they are the ticket!

A red illuminated scope will lose the reticle with a red light. I shoot a lot of coyotes ay night and find that a vxlll 2x8x36 does the best job of gathering light. If you can find an older model fixed 6 leupold it would be the best you can get.
